Welcome to the new forum!

Hi everyone, welcome to "The Forum".

This has been put here to address several issues some of our members have pointed out with our previous communications system - "the Mailing List"! Terribly outdated you may say, so someone came up with the bright idea of a forum.

The benefits are as follows:

• Personal prefs can be set as to how much you want to receive in your inbox
• Less counter-productive moderation (although there is still some!)
• Idle chit-chat won't annoy non-members
• Theories, techniques, ideas and queries can be batted around and discussed without too much trouble
• The mailing list can be used for it's original purpose (as a newsletter/bulletin thingy)
• It's fun! C'mon! We have smilies now :P

So as from now, the mailing list will only be used for external mail and broadcasts about TeamTV news. If you wish to broadcast to both members and non-members, this is the best way, and you should contact larry@teamtv.org.uk or julian@teamtv.org.uk if you wish to put out a "press release" so-to-speak. So don't mail to the team@teamtv.org.uk mailing list anymore, as it'll be deleted.

So get out there and register, we look forward to creating a healthy online community as well as our offline existence.

We will need some forum moderators to occasionally check and make sure that no-one is abusing the system, if you'd like to apply, register and then send an email to forum@teamtv.org.uk. The usual stuff is prohibited: abuse, flaming, sexual harassment panda, racism etc. Discretion will be used, depending in what context, but be aware and be thoughtful. Think before you type.

Kind Regards,

TeamTV

Nice one Larik. Excellent response to the mailing problem. Now even I might join in all the fun cyber-chat instead of being a geekophobe! ALEX FOR A BAFTA!!

Just for reference, and as is mentioned all over the forum, in the instructions and in the emails you all received when the forum went live, if you want to do a mass mail-out, you can send your submission to info@teamtv.org.uk along with your reason, and something will be decided upon it and sorted. This is cutting down the banter that was going to people who may not have wanted to receive it.

It's up to members to stay up to date now, and you can subscribe to those topics you want notifications about.
